After closing the freezer door, it takes significant force to reopen it even after a short time.
Common Causes
- 1This is normal — the vacuum created as warm air cools inside the freezer makes doors temporarily hard to open (wait 30 seconds)
- 2Suction stronger than expected from very tight new door gasket
- 3Door gasket swelled from Los Angeles humidity creating more suction than normal
- 4Magnetic seal very strong on newer model
- 5Air vent for pressure equalization clogged on some models
